Alexa Park Las Vegas: A Neil Diamond Tribute

ROB GARRETT’S “KING OF DIAMONDS” LAS VEGAS SHOW RESIDENCY CONTINUES ON in the “Alexis Park Modern Showrooms” at ALEXIS PARK HOTEL.

The legendary Neil Diamond is one of the best-selling and most iconic singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.

Besides being one of the biggest selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also written and recorded the songs of a generation — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.

In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond stepped away from live performances after being affected by Parkinson’s.

However, Diamond’s concert legacy continues to be preserved for audiences throughout the world through longtime Las Vegas performer Rob Garrett, widely regarded as the top Neil Diamond tribute artist.

Ask Alexa “who is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll get the same answer.

Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.

In May 1974, his parents brought him from New York City to Las Vegas, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.

Garrett went on to see him 16 more times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.

In 1980, Garrett formed his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a decade-and-a-half career in Las Vegas and across the nation before deciding to move from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his musical idols.

In 1995, Garrett was personally hired by Paul Revere (of The Raiders) to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.

What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a three-year success.

By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to go independent.

He began a busy tour circuit, building a devoted fan base along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”

He continues to perform to sold-out venues nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.

Garrett has also won numerous awards, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”

“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.

On May 19, 2025 officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.

Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.

It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has appeared at more Vegas stages than any other.

Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway Rob Garrett Neil Diamond Tribute Show for groups jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only continuous Neil Diamond tribute in the U.S..

Alexis Park Hotel Las Vegas is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., just ¼ mile west of Paradise Rd..
